GENETIC CAUSALITY RESEARCH

CIOF will co-sponsor (in conjunction with teaching hospitals, universities, and research facilities) research into the genetic factors which predispose or otherwise contribute to the propensity toward unhealthy weight gain. If we can isolate the genetic causality factors, and identify the precursors (biological markers) to obesity, we can develop early-stage interventions to stop the problem before it has an opportunity to fully manifest, and gain the upper-hand.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS RESEARCH

CIOF will work with practitioners of all types of healthcare, fitness, diet, lifestyle and wellness protocols in order to find special treatments and pre-emptive measures for obesity caused by environmental factors, habits, influences and other adjustable environmental variables.

BARIATRIC RESEARCH

CIOF will sponsor and provide continuous updates on innovative surgical procedures to treat extreme cases having a high probability of morbidity. We are optimistic that some of the innovative researchers, physicians and companies that we are in discussions with will develop less expensive and less invasive (and traumatic) means of direct physical intervention, far beyond the scope of current gastric bypass surgery, stomach stapling, and liposuction.

PHARMACOLOGICAL RESEARCH

CIOF will help support, award (i.e., through public recognition of successes) and provide updates on all relevant pharmacological developments, safety factors, effectiveness, FDA testing status and results, and other pertinent information relating to the development of medications which will favorably impact the lives of those suffering from, or predisposed to dangerous overweight and obesity.
